A Lesson in Strength

A Lesson in Strength

A storm in a glass of water,
maybe that was all I had to endure,
but for me it was a tornado,
a giant flood overwhelming me.
I needed the world to stop,
for my life to come to a halt.
I needed panic to take me over,
and fear to pierce a way through my heart.

In order for us to become stronger,
we first have to become weaker.
For strength can only enter our soul,
if it defeats all the negative inside us,
and diminishes our fears and doubts.
When the mind grows stronger,
it allows our faith to grow,
so we can learn to trust ourselves.
Like a seed in the dark earth,
first has to die,
in order to bloom in its brightest colors,
that is how our dark hearts,
first has to die inside of us,
in order to become strong and invincible.
When we are willing to face our fear,
we are able to defeat them in the battle.
If we are willing to work on ourselves,
the victory of self-growth will be ours.
The lesson of strength,
has been the most valuable in my life,
for it has taught me,
that when you do not give up,
anything is possible.
The key is to put one foot in front of the other,
to breathe one breath at the time,
to force your heart to keep on beating,
when the darkness seems to engulf you.
But the greatest help in this process,
was a man on a cross,
who rose from the dead,
and who believed in me,
long before I did.
The road to pure strength,
goes through deep dark valleys,
and over high mountains,
but at the end of the road,
the prize of self-love,
understanding, wisdom, and confidence,
is worth everything!

A Changed Perspective

A Changed Perspective

Hollow caves cannot provide light in the darkness,
so I am looking for a way to decorate the cave.
Standing in the middle of this empty space,
details of consequences are suddenly exposed.
Years of erosion has chipped away the walls,
and the ones so smooth surface is now ragged.
The interpretation of the current circumstances,
allow me to take a closer look at the scars,
inviting me to change my perspective.
For the first I notice the organized changes,
so beautifully revealed in the design.
The black rock has made place for diamonds,
illuminating the dark cave as if it were never night,
and the water dripping down from the cave icicles,
turn into a harmoniously orchestrated melody,
that has the power to calm every living being.
The erosion that once caused so much pain,
has slowly changed hopelessness into a love song,
providing a light in this seemingly dark cave.
If the changes have created this much illumination,
then maybe the future has a silver lining filled with hope.
Frozen in time we are allowed to see what is really there,
to change our perspective on ourselves and others,
so our hope will become the change we are looking for,
and our change will become the hope for a new generation!

Cultural Differences

Cultural Differences

Differences in cultures confuse,
yet only through observation,
can we learn to see things,
from a new perspective.
So embrace the unknown,
kiss the familiarities,
read the scripts,
and learn the words.
Our understanding can only grow,
when we let go off what we know,
to open our hearts for the new.
Let our minds first meet,
before we let our tongue speak,
idle words that lack knowledge.
Hearts can only connect,
when we open our soul to each other.
Lives can only embrace,
when we open our arms in love.
I do not have to forget myself,
nor ignore the person that I am,
to embrace someone who is different.
Where love opens her heart,
she does not exclude anyone,
for in the eyes of love we are all the same.
Children of one Creator,
we are all loved by One,
who understands love,
embraces love,
and is love.
So let us be like our Creator,
let us be love,
not just to ourselves,
or the ones we know,
but to all.
Differences in cultures confuse,
but when we become love,
we can see Heaven in a broken world.

The Road of Self-Discovery

The road of self-discovery

The end of the bowl is in sight,
when I eat the last of my grapes.
With the juice still on my lips,
I meditate on the sweet taste,
lingering in the corners of my mind.

Every memory is a treasure at heart,
where growth is gently formed,
in the deep core of perseverance.
Whether we like it or not,
every moment in life is a learning process,
where we learn more about ourselves.

Fear is not the master of our faith,
nor is grieve the root for our future.
We overcome the darkest facets of ourselves,
when confrontation is not avoided,
but embraced with a heart of understanding.

To understand who we really are,
is understanding who God really is,
and wants to be inside of us.
The strength, wisdom and beauty,
that we pray for every single day,
is already present in our souls.

When we search for the treasures,
the gifts that God has hidden inside of us,
we learn that strength is always present,
that beauty is something we already possess,
and that wisdom is a tangible element of who we are.

In every aspect of our life,
gratitude is the only answer,
and love the only motivation,
we should be looking for.

Today I have grown

Today I have grown

The long halls look familiar,
like scenes from an old film,
where the tiles have never lost their color,
and floors still look exactly the same.

Doors open with new changes.
Through the unexpected conversations,
new lessons are born in hope,
where understanding has grown,
and knowledge is easier to control.

Blending in has never suited me,
I always stood out in the massive crowd.
A little grey mouse between a hundred swans,
they always passed me by in a haze,
where wonder asked me where they were going,
and understanding has failed to answer the question.

Today my life has grown,
into a magical bird of paradise,
shining her feathers among the swallows,
singing her song between the nightingales.

Today I have learned to stand tall,
between everything that is different,
embracing the uniqueness of myself,
between the extraordinary beauty,
of millions of others.
