The Worth of the Cross

Endlessly critical,
the window breaks,
in My own view.
Shards cut skin-deep,
and blood drips,
on a marble floor.
The thorns were too big,
the lashes too hard,
and the cross too heavy.
I fell in the dirt,
waiting for someone,
to take over from Me.
But there was no one!
Alone and broken,
I carried the weight,
of a sin filled world,
on My own shoulders.
My tears were real,
My sorrow true,
and My blood was shed,
for every, single, one of you.
And if I had to,
I would do it all again,
because to see My house,
filled with so much love,
makes the cross easy.
It was worth it,
every step,
every whiplash,
and every nail.
It was worth it,
because to see you,
in My world,
fills My heart with so much joy,
that the memories of the past,
fade like the pain of giving birth,
to a newborn child.
