A Great Metaphor for Life

Pumpkin and spices,
coffee in cozy cafes,
and blankets on sofas,
that used to be bare.

The first hearths are lit,
and candles burn,
spreading their soft light,
in rooms that slowly,
become darker.

Autumn is a time,
of going in,
shutting the door,
and reflecting on life.
And as we try to defeat,
the days getting darker,
by spreading our light,
I think, it is a great metaphor,
for our whole life.

The End of a Season

It is the end of summer,
and a season comes,
of learning to let go.
Of letting nature die,
slowly into the ground.
Leaves fall down,
and fungi clean nature,
of all its waste.
It is a time of harvest –
reaping what is good,
and storing it for the winter.
This season I must learn,
to accept the things,
I cannot control.
To allow myself,
to be ignorant of all,
that is still to come.
And understand,
that after the autumn,
and then the winter,
spring will come,
to bring a season of life,
once again.
